Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Hunnewell

What is the DEI Committee?

A group of parents working to increase awareness about DEI, support Hunnewell families, provide educational opportunities, and promote a community of belonging.

DEI Initiatives

Community Reads

This fall, the DEI focus is on identity to explore who each of us are individually, how we can celebrate the diversity of our community with respect and curiosity, and where we can find common ground.

We have a selection of picture books that you can read and discuss with your child(ren). Every couple of weeks, we will highlight one of the books and pose a question for students.

Book Highlight

Alma and How She Got Her Name by Juana Martinez-Neal.

Available through the Wellesley Free Library as both a book and an eBook.

Discussion question for families: "How did you get your name?"

Parent Discussion Groups

All are welcome and we hope many members of the Hunnewell community will attend!
